Matt is an aggressive front row player who can play within the framework of a team approach. His jump serve has power and accuracy and he is a statistical leader on his club teams in kills, blocks, and aces.
His colleges of interest were UC San Diego, Cal State Northridge, UC Santa Barbara and Pepperdine. He recieved letters of intent and scholorship offers from Northridge and Santa Barbara, along with a committment from San Diego to be on the team.
Matt has signed a letter of intent to play next year at Cal State Northridge and is looking forward to playing at the Division I level.
Matthew Rice is a Senior at Foohill High School in Pleasanton, California, graduating in 2007.
He is the starting opposite hitter and a three year varsity volleyball player.
